I'd agree that it's not the best ad in the world. However, the Suzuki SX4 is a subcompact, as is the MINI. And it's completely feasible for someone shopping for a MINI might look at the SX4, especially since it has AWD. Why not?
And actually, 25hp is a fair amount of ponies, especially since both cars weigh a good amount under 3,000 lbs.
The ad might be bad, but the SX4 is a nice little car.

You're right, it isn't a bad car at all.
I should clarify that I have taken a look at one of these things, and it is a good little car. Probably much more reliable than the Mini too.
I'm just trying to make the point that the Mini is just one of those Icon cars that people buy simply because it is what it is. Like why people like me buy a Mac for a computer.
